Not really game related, but a nice addition. By checking or unchecking the three listed options you have the ability to customize the emulator display.

  • Status Bar - controls a small bar at the bottom of the emulator display that gives you the status of the emulator.
  • Command Bar - Don't like the huge graphic command buttons? Disable them here.
  • Console - The Debug window getting in the way? Disable it.

    Other (Features)

Highlighting "File" from the top menu bar displays 4 options to start gaming.
  • Run CD - When you are ready to play this button will start the emulator and run a PSX CD game. If everything is configured properly the game should start.
  • Run ISO - As stated above this option can be used to run a game image file in compressed or decompressed formats.

  • Run EXE - This option is for use when running demo executables

  • Run PSF - This option is for use when running PSF Files (Playstation Sound Format). For more information on PSF go HERE

  • Force Change Disk - For games with multiple disks. When prompted to change your disk simply press "ESC" on your keyboard. Then choose "CDRom" if your swapping an actual CD game, or "ISO File" if your playing a game image file
    Exit - Self explanatory

    Special Keys
The following keys can be used while game is in play:

  • F1 - Save State
  • F2 - Pick a save state slot (1-5)
  • F3 - Load State
  • F8 - Makes a Snapshot
  • ESC - Pause/Continue current game.

  • Continue / States - If you have played PSXeven previously and used the save state feature, you can now start exactly where you left off by loading the save state from this menu. The menu could also be used if you have downloaded a save state and wish to use it in your own game or if you wish to create a save state without using the "F1" key. If you have paused gameplay using the "ESC" key, the Continue option gets you back into the game.

Select Logo - As you have probably guessed by the screenshots..PSXeven has a nice extra feature that allows you to change the background skin on the emulator. The feature supports BMP, JPG, PNG, and GIF image formats.
