NESCafe is a Nintendo Emulator that is written entirely in Java and consequently will run on any platform. It runs loads of the old great NES games and it was also the first Java NES emulator to support sound.
|
NESCafe does require a fast Java Virtual Machine. The fastest JVM I’ve seen is the IBM JDK 1.3 and it is highly recommended by me. This is well worth a download since it boasts the NESCafe frame rate by 30-40 Frames per Second, which I think is amazing. Whatever JVM you decide to use, it must be compatible with Java 1.30 or greater to support the Sound API that NESCafe uses. Check the readme for links to various JVM downloads.
