RuMSX history:
--------------

V0.40:
- Display driver (normal and hires) are completely
rewritten. The new sprite-renderer includes also
  a completely changed coincidence detection.
Games such as "Hydefos" or "Psycho World" are now
  running properly!
- Added "MSX2[b]" configuration with 256KB RAM in
Slot 3-3, which is required by many disk-images.
This is compatible to the Sony (HB-F700D) layout,
that supports POKE-1,255 for running many games.
- Code is now optimized for Pentium Pro and higher.
- Major enhancements of the RuMSX core do now require
at least a processor with 1 GHz (1.5GHz recommended)
- Added support for ROM-database including the
  RUMSXROM.EXE command-line utility for database
maintenance. The initial database contains more
  than 500 known ROMs.
- "Harry Fox with Snow Demonking" did not run on MSX 2+
and MSX Turbo-R machines. This is now fixed!
- Incorrectly selected 16KB ROM-types (e.g. ASCII/16K)
  sometimes caused RuMSX to crash!
- Support of OPLL audio (MSX-Music, FM-PAC) slightly
improved (notes should no longer 'hang').
- Support of video capture hardware slightly improved
  (video display is now scaled).
- Switched I/O (ports &H40-&H4F) did not work fully
correct, therefore Kanji-modes 1+3 displayed filled
  blocks instead of proper characters
(this bug was new since RuMSX v0.32).
- SCC+ access is now recognized (played as SCC sound).
- Added previously removed Hangul ROMs again.
- Added '/NoSoundOut' command-line option to disable
  annoying MSX sounds.
- Added "International (DIN)" font to locale settings.
  (provides the DIN "0" character)

V0.33:
- Many problems since V0.32 fixed: conceptual bugs in the
  interrupt handling are now solved!
"Zanac", "Zanac 3", "Super Laydock Last Attack 2" and
"F1 Spirit 3D Special" are working again (at least as
  good as before).
- The ROM-type "Generic MegaROM (with SCC, KONAMI 8 KByte)"
was defined incorrectly. Bank 1 (&H4000-5FFF) is now fixed,
otherwise it would not work on MSX2+ and TurboR.
Also: no Konami-ROM is of this type: detection corrected!
- One display frame has been skipped always,
even if 0-Skip has been configured
- Screen 8 had wrong colors in HiRes-mode

V0.32:
- Creation of new configurations created invalid paths to
standard ROM images. This bug was new since V0.31.
- New introduced V9948 video processor was mistakenly
assigned to MSX2+ and TurboR configurations.
- The VDP version number of the V9958 was incorrect (=1)
since the beginning of RuMSX. This is now fixed (=2).
- VDP supports the native modes only (TMS9918A does no
longer support SCREEN 4 and higher modes, V9938 does
no longer support SCREEN 10 and higher modes). Prior
versions reported only the correct VDP version number,
but enabled all valid modes and command for every
  Video-Processor.
- When creating a new disk-image it's now possible to
  select between MSX-DOS1 and MSX-DOS2 boot-sectors.
- Using TrueColor RuMSX-logo from Marc Donkers in the
  AboutBox.
- Fixing repaint problems. If RuMSX was running or halted
in background not all parts of the MSX display have been
  properly repainted.
- Extended advanced options to prevent entering of
monitor power low/off modes (not recommended for
  laptops).
- Initial number of 5th/9th sprite is 0 (rather than 31
used until RuMSX V0.31), indicating that there are no
  hidden sprite lines.
- Minor fix of the Z80 RETI command (should not affect
  normal MSX programs)
- Pending VDP interrupts (signaled while interrupts disabled)
were mistakenly discarded. This is now fixed and corrects
  (a) the slowdown of games such as
"Track & Field" and "Hyper Sports",
  (b) flickering display in games using scanline interrupts
such as "Zanac Ex" and "Aleste 2"
- Added support for Z80B CPU.
- Added CYRILLIC (russian) and ARABIC font to the
  "Locale" dialog.
- Updated MSX-locale and initial VDP-frequency of the
CBIOS configurations according to the design-
specifications. (RuMSX V0.31 did not contain the
  specified changes, even if listed).
- ROM cartridges with MSX-Basic programs were not
  detected properly.

V0.31:
- Added SCSI-Support for the WD33C93A controller,
which enables use of HSH and NOVAXIS ROMs with
  harddisk-images (with NOVAXIS CD-ROM ISO-images
  can be accessed too)
- Support for multiple Disk-ROMs added
(now up to 8 floppy-drives can be used, in theory)
- Screen 8 colors have been fixed, display is now
much brighter (4 grey tones are available too)
- SaveState files with more than 1 ROM-cartridge have
  been improperly saved and loaded.
- Temporarily fixed potential crashes in highres-modes
when the Adjust-register uses excessive values.
The adjust-register Y value is ignored for now.
(as result the NOVAXIS NFDISK-utility does no longer
crash if running in high-resolution mode)
- HtmlHelp updated (V0.30 did unfortunately not contain the
described help update). Added SCREEN 9 information.
- Added extensions to the MSX-Configuration dialog
  (changed TR-DefaultConfig,
  implemented missing features, ...)
- Added read-only support for the personal folder
  "My MSX\MSX computers\RuMSX configurations"
(reads *.CFG and explicitly defined ROMs from here)
IMPORTANT: the "My MSX" folder must be
  enabled for this!
- MSXDOS1 boot-sector has been slightly modified
(removed random bytes to get compact code+data)
- Updated MSX-locale and initial VDP-frequency
of the CBIOS configurations according to the
  design-specifications.
- Made a few improvements in ROM-type detection
- Language selection now allows to include
  value-formatting too
- Added option to decrease CPU-load while running at
same speed. Added "inactive mode" option in case
  RuMSX is running in background.
- Added experimental emulation of Epson printers,
"Print-X-press" is at least partially working now.
- Fixed a bug in the "Generic 8KB ROM mapper",
which prevented Parodius from being played until the end
(copyprotection caused random stop at the last
  end-monster)
- ROM\SCCPLUS.TXT added. This file describes the
"SCC+ dummy" ROM-image format and handling.
- Some more minor updates...

V0.30:
- MSX 2+ configuration failed to boot
(this bug was new since RuMSX V0.29)
- MSX[1] configuration did not have an SRAM,
therefore the DiskROM prompted for system-date
(this configuration-bug was new since RuMSX V0.29)
- Reported VDP-Version number of V9938 (MSX2 video)
  was incorrect.
- Added support for true MSX1 color-palette,
this does also affect loaded MSX1 save-state files.
- Screen 8 sprite colors were incorrect,
fix uses nearest color of the used renderer.
- Updated MSX-Help: color-palette(s), C-BIOS,
added missing "COLOR SPRITE" and "COLOR SPRITE$"
- Fixed VDP-command 0 (ABRT), which has been refused
in non-bitmap mode. This command is now properly
  processed.
- Updated C-BIOS to V0.20 and license-agreement
- Rewritten debug-console, which supports more
output-data (up to 32KB are now buffered).
- Added 'dw' (dump word) command for the debugger
- Renamed title from "MSX-Emulator" to "RuMSX"

V0.29:
- RuMSX now supports a "My MSX" folder. This feature
is disabled by default and has to be enabled by
  separate tools!
- ROM-type detection failed for some types if
*.ROM file was launched from the Explorer
- Added ROM-type for "Holy Quran"
- Added ROM-type for "Zombie Hunter"
- Added ROM-type for "IDE-Interface"
  (currently non-functional).
- Added experimental support for SCSI-Interfaces
  (currently non-functional).
- Fixed "FM-PAC" and "Halnote" ROM-layout
- Fixed (FM-)PAC SRAM mapper, so that it now
works with "Laydock2 - Last Attack" too.
- Fixed detection of "SCC+ dummy" ROM
- Fixed "Generic MegaROM (KONAMI4/8 KByte)" mapper
(caused problems with 'Metal Gear' on MSX2+)
- BugFix: invalid display mode results in 16KB
VRAM only (overflow after adress-increment does
not enter a new VRAM-page, also the VRAM layout
  matches screen modes 0(40), 1, 2 and 3).
"Hunchback" displays its graphic properly now.
- Supporting FS-A1ST Turbo R configuration too
(here the MSX-Logo is part of MSX-Music)
- Added C-BIOS configuration
  (see http://cbios.sourceforge.net/)
- Significantly improved MSX-Help
  (MSX-Basic core documentation completed,
many other topics are updated and extended)
- Added support for "My MSX" folder
- MSX1 machines usually don't have a CMOS-RAM:
added "Base MSX" configuration without CMOS,
without Disk-ROM and 32KB RAM only
(Note: 16KB RAM does not work with all System-ROMs)
- SETUP added additional information for the
  Add/remove "Software" control panel applet
- New tiny SETUP.EXE uses an Install/Uninstall wizard
and adds support for the "My MSX" folder
- SETUP.EXE renamed "RuMSXrom" and "RuMSXtape" keys
in the registry to neutral values
- Stabilized debugger (sometimes crashed) and added
the 'RF' (full register output) command.

V0.28:
- Windows XP styles are supported automatically,
without need to copy a separate manifest-file.
- Failed attempts to switch into fullscreen mode
caused drawing problems. This is now fixed!
- FMPAC SRAM was improperly saved to state-files
- MSX-Audio ROM mapper fixed
- The following ROM-types have been added:
  + MSX-DOS 2, release 3
  + Crossblaim

  (preceded by CHR$(1)) properly
- Some Konami ROM's were not properly mapped,
so e.g. the translated "Parodius" was garbled.
- Highest sprite-number was improperly calculated
in some cases. "Andorogynus" uses proper sprites now.
- Location and size of ROMs - started by double-clicking
the file - were not always recogized properly. RuMSX
can now run much more games by double-clicking the ROM
  within the Windows Explorer.
- RuMSX saved states might have failed to load because
  the stream "CONFIG(0)" was complained.
- DiskROM call PHYDIO (4010h) returned the number of
read/written sectors instead of the number of remaining
  sectors (discovered by
Maarten ter Huurne).
- Fixed memory leak while RuMSX was running in

- DISK.ROM can now be inserted into any available slot
if the MSX configuration does not provide disk-support
(previous versions did not patch the BIOS entries)
- Added support for concatenated disk-images
- Locale-Dialog could failed to restore default keyboard-layout
(if changed), a valid driver-file have had to be selected.

property-sheet did not have a word-break (single line)
- Locale-option "Windows keyboard" is now disabled,
  because still not implemented yet!

replaced *.KBD files with new ones. Please note that
the 1digit MSX-locale within the new files is for
  information only.
- In some cases RuMSX V0.22 corrupted savestate-files.
This occured if saving a new state-file where the state
  was restored from a previous RuMSX-version (i.e. V0.21).
