Introduction

Project Tempest by Ville Linde

Project Tempest is an Atari Jaguar Emulator for Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP. The Atari Jaguar was the world's first 64-bit home console video game system. Developed after three years of research, manufactured by IBM, the Jaguar was released in Fall 1993, and offered high speed action, CD-quality sound, and polygon graphics processing beyond most other machines available at the time. Originally released as the Jaguar, Atari had, at times, referred to the machine as the "Jaguar64" for marketing purposes. Project Tempest dates back to sometime in October 2002, when Ville Released the 1stPublic Version.

The Version Emulated:
MC68000: Completely. Using Turbo68K by Bart Trzynadlowski
GPU: All the opcodes are emulated.
DSP: Most of the opcodes are emulated. Interrupts are not correct.
Sound output is not implemented.
Object Processor: Everything is emulated, except 32-bit object and GPU objects
Blitter: Most operations are emulated. Still very buggy and crashes many games.

The latest version is now up to 0.95 Released on February 12, 2004 and as come a hell of a way since the 1st. It has a nice compatibility and is "The Best" Jaguar emulator out there. The Game play is getting Better and Better and is for all Jaguar based Fans, a sign of bigger and better things to expect from this great emu.

Project Tempest

Minimum System Requirements :

1GHz+ processor
128MB RAM
DirectX 9.0 or higher
Windows 9x/ME/2000/XP (only tested on XP)

A faster processor is seriously recommended !
For sound emulation, you probably need a 2+ GHz processor.
