Other Stuff

In the "Config" menu there is an option called "Netplay". If entered you will see the menu on the left. If you are using our "Installation Pack", then you have a couple of plugins to choose from. These plugins allow online play. So use this only if you plan to. Need plugins? EFX2.com of course!

In the "Config" menu there is also an option called "Memcard". This menu (Shown on the right) allows you to choose the memory card you want to use with ePSXe. Lots of different formats are supported, like the bleem!, VGS, or formats used by other PSX emulators. Just choose your memory card, and it'll get used.

Navigating other areas in ePSXe show other options. Under "Run" shown on the left are useful during gameplay. You can reset the game from here, or usitlize "Save States".

"Save States" are totally different then memory cards. It is a function featured in the emulator, and not found in the real PSX. "Save States" allow you the ability to save anywhere, and at anytime. The format is specific to ePSXe however. So if you plan on moving your save to another emulator (or to the PSX using DEXdrive), then use memory cards instead.

As shown in the menu, you can select save state (or press F1 on your keyboard) or load your previous save (F3)

Under "Options" you will find an option for PPF patching. PPF patching is another alternative for getting past game copyright protections. This works particularly well if "Subchannel Handling" fails to work for you. If this option is enabled, ePSXe will search inside it's "Patches" directory for a PPF file specific to the game your playing. This means you better have a PPF file in that directory aye. Like Subchannels, this option is not needed much.

Also under "Options" is country selection. ePSXe will normally auto detect the region the game is from (USA, Japan, Europe, etc), but you can force a particular region (just in case it misdetects).
